The Cannes Film Festival hosted the world premiere of Asteroid City, the latest film by director Wes Anderson which benefits from a starry cast and its return to the Croisette after its premiere The French Dispatch in 2021.
Anderson was joined by stars of the film including Scarlett Johansson, Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Hope Davis, Steve Carell, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke and Jeffrey Wright who all walked the red carpet at the Grand Théâtre Lumière , Tuesday, May 23.
Other guests who attended the event included Colin Jost, Julia Garner, Brie Larson, Ramata-Toulaye Sy, Anaïs Demoustier, Molly Manning Walker, Jim Jarmusch, Maye Musk, Meredith Mickelson and Fan Bingbing.

The film follows the transformative events that occur at an annual Junior Stargazer convention in 1955. Soldiers, scientists and parents from across the country come together to discover the spectacular inventions of gifted students. When Augie Steenbeck (Schwartzman) meets actress Midge Campbell (Johansson) and aliens crash the party.

It features a large ensemble cast which includes Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jason Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Grace Edwards, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum.
It’s slated for a limited US release in New York and Los Angeles on June 16, 2023, before expanding to wide release on June 23, 2023.
